Do you have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start or who to start with? 

Techstars Startup Weekend is the place to look for a team, create a prototype of your idea, validate your business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, all in one weekend.

What do you need to bring?

Lots of energy! You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.

Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely! Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.

Techstars Startup Weekend is a full weekend long experience. Your ticket includes:

Coaches and Mentors

Parna Sarkar-Basu
CEO and Founder, Brand and Buzz Marketing, LLC

Parna Sarkar-Basu, a tech advocate, helps companies navigate the digital era and created the robot technology category and ecosystem along with the founders of iRobot.   Leveraging her two passions – technology and brand building – Parna humanizes corporate brands, builds thought leaders, simplifies the complex and creates industry buzz to elevate companies to new heights. She has been instrumental in propelling tech companies into innovation leaders in highly competitive markets, including artificial intelligence, enterprise software, storage systems, robots, agtech, healthtech and mobile.   Recipient of multiple awards, Parna has led marketing and communications functions for various global companies, including Kaminario, iRobot, iCorps Technologies, Invention Machine (acquired by IHS), and PTC. She serves as a strategic advisor to entrepreneurs and CEOs in the U.S. and Europe, and works with their team on a variety of initiatives, including corporate and product positioning, new market entry, innovation marketing and digital transformation.   She appears frequently as a speaker at key local and industry events. The discussions range from innovation and entrepreneurship to tech trends and emerging technologies. A champion of STEM initiatives and innovation, Parna builds and supports programs to inspire future innovators and entrepreneurs.

Kendra Taylor
Founder and CEO First Immuno-Consulting LLC

Kendra is an innovation-focused life science market research consultant with over 12 years of professional experience in clinical translational research. Kendra has held leadership roles in project management and business development. She has been a Market Research Consultant and Business Insights Analyst at Decision Resources Group and a Vice President of Business Development at Westnet Inc. Kendra leverages her scientific and market research experiences to help clients develop targeted and clinically relevant market research plans as part of their early-stage market strategy or overall commercialization plan. Kendra has served clients in areas of Rheumatology, Oncology, and Surgical Devices.

Stephen Pappas
Senior Vice President Panviva

Steve has built a career transforming customer experiences. By taking a 360-degree view of the customer, Steve makes sure each employee has the actionable knowledge necessary to make better decisions and serve customers in a way that increases loyalty, referrals, sales and satisfaction.   In his role with Panviva, the omnichannel knowledge cloud company, Steve consults with hundreds of companies annually on their CX strategies. Industry associations, publications, and Fortune 500 companies invite him to speak and write about CX best practices in healthcare, finance, utilities, insurance and telecommunications.   A successful entrepreneur in his own right, Steve has built and sold six companies. Each company has held to the mantra of “the customer is at the center of the universe.” When he is not driving CX strategy, Steve plays the guitar and mentors young entrepreneurs. He lives in New Hampshire with his wife and sons.

David Frankel
Managing Partner SLINGSTONE Group

Experienced executive at global DATA & ANALYTICS, SaaS ENTERPRISE TECH, FIN SVCS and FINTECH companies in various stages of growth cycles (PE/VC backed startups, turnarounds, pre-IPO to IPO companies). Executive at companies that have successfully exited via IPO (FactSet), acquisition (EDGAR Online), as well as participated in several equity/capital raises (FirstRain, Capify).

Joshua Hebert founded Magellan Jets in 2008 with 25 years of experience in finance, marketing, and aviation. His expertise in business start-ups, transformations, search engine optimization, and marketing has enabled him to grow Magellan Jets into the brand it is today. In founding Magellan Jets, Hebert melded his passion for aviation with his knowledge and financial savvy, which he gleaned from starting his career on Wall Street at Paine Webber and Shearson Lehman Brothers.

Sam Keif
Founder/CEO & Principal Recruiter

Sam has spent over a decade working in the healthcare industry. He started as a front desk attendant at his college's student health center and worked his way up to a management role at a world renowned academic hospital in Boston. In the span of his career he worked at institutions such as Boston's Children's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He's worked in roles directly within the operations, analytics, finance, billing, hiring and clinic management within the healthcare sector. After working for other for many years Sam got the itch to go out on his own and started freelance recruiting in the summer of 2016. In January 2017 Sam officially started "The Gaisce Group, LLC". "My goal is to help both hiring facilities and candidates reach their goals and find the right fit for them to be able to practice medicine to the best of their ability."
