[URGENT UPDATE | Event Postponed - 3/13/2020]

Thank you for your interest Techstars Startup Weekend: Sacred Heart University. Due to very serious public health concerns related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) at large gatherings we have decided to postpone our event, originally scheduled for March 20-23. This difficult decision was made in the interest of the safety of attendees and constituents during this sensitive time of health concerns related to COVID-19. We look forward to delivering an engaging, inspiring and safe event in the future. Within the next few weeks, we will be posting information on plans to reschedule to a later date, so please stay tuned.

All of us here would like to send you our best wishes for your continued good health and look forward to seeing you running at a future event. Please reach out to us at SHU@startupweekend.org with questions.

Sincerely,
Techstars Startup Weekend SHU Team

Welcome to Startup Weekend Sacred Heart University! Join us on March 20-22 for a weekend of startup fun, no prior experience needed! Startup Weekend is the best place to come and test that idea you've been telling all your friends about. Over the weekend, you'll build a team, work through spinning-up your product with amazing mentors, and put together an "MVP" (Minimum Viable Product) to present on Sunday. So, whether it's the next big solution for the shared economy, or the next impactful venture to address our social problems of tomorrow, come meet like-minded entrepreneurs and become change agents at SHU. Registration is free for students signing up with a Sacred Heart University email address.

What do you need to bring?

Lots of energy! You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.

Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely! Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.

Techstars Startup Weekend is a full weekend long experience. Your ticket includes:
  • 7 full (and delicious) meals over the course of the weekend
  • Benefits and discounts from our global partners
  • One-on-one time with amazing mentors
  • A new network of developers, designers, and entrepreneurs eager, like you, to change the world.
  • All the internet and coffee you can consume.
Watch the video below to see what you can expect, and if you’re feeling inspired, sign up by clicking the “Buy Ticket” button now! Registration is free for participants signing up with a Sacred Heart University email address.

Still have questions, feel free to reach us at fairfield@startupweekend.org.

Don’t wait any longer and join the Techstars Startup Weekend movement!

No talk, all action!

Please contact shu@startupweekend.org if you are interested in participating, but are not registered at SHU.
