Speakers


Kevin Manley

Kevin Manley, President of The Exit Advisors, is a noted business strategist and entrepreneur. Kevin holds an MBA, a Masters in Engineering, and is a Certified Exit Advisor (CExP). He is also an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at Embry Riddle. He has founded, advised, and/or invested in a variety of companies in consumer electronics, medical technology, philanthropic technology, real estate development, etc.In 1995 Kevin co-founded Yesmail.com, an online e-marketing solutions company. He and his co-founders took Yesmail public in 1999, and sold it to CMGI in 2000 for over $700M. This 5-year process involved name changes, strategic focus changes, smart advisors, luck, great timing, and great people. Kevin helps owners of both startups and established businesses maximize their company's value and formulate a plan to grow their business, leverage their talent, improve their focus, utilize technology, enhance overall stability, and develop and implement an exit/transition strategy.

Brian Dawson

Mr. Dawson, CEO of Silversphere is no stranger to building strong companies with over 20 years experience in the technology industry. Through his leadership, Brian led Silversphere in changing the way assisted living communities care for seniors through innovative emergency call networks and enterprise-level software systems. Embracing the value a "start-up culture" brings to a company, Brian has launched many new businesses over the years that leverage the strengths and personal passions of his senior executives. Shared by almost the entire executive team is the passion for hunting. This commonality led to his most recent venture; a hunting app called Knockdown Outdoors. This subscription-based tool for serious hunters, that launched this past July.


Alex Guastella

Mr. Guastella has spent 9 years building great companies in the digital consumer space. He has been instrumental in building companies like ZocDoc, Medullan, Quick’rCare and many more. He has helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars in venture capital. He built revenues from $0 to over $100 million annually. Alex has worked with companies like Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and HCA to build technologies that positively impact patients. His passion is to disrupt what current healthcare systems are doing and improve the quality in which care is delivered to all people. Alex wants to be known for creating the right change for the greater good.


Corrine Heck

Ms. Heck, Founder & CEO of Details Flowers, brings more than 20 years of experience to the flower & wedding industries. Details Flowers software helps florists focus on their unique business operations, systems of management, and procurement of the worlds most beautiful blooms. With Details, our florists are sending professional contracts, booking more events, and providing unmatched service to their clientele.


Coaches and Mentors


Andrea Kurak

Ms. Kurak is a partner with the law firm of Cobb Cole.  She focuses her practice in the areas of corporate and business law, including business organizations, mergers and acquisitions and commercial finance, counseling both established business clients, as well as start up companies in all aspects of federal, state, and local law affecting their businesses. She frequently advises business clients in connection with the acquisition or disposition of stock and/or assets, and has assisted clients in the closing of transactions with purchase prices ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to several hundred million dollars.


Art Zimmet

Mr. Zimmet is a program manager at the Florida Virtual Entrepreneur Center. Before that he was a business consultant at Daytona's Small Business Development Center. He is also a founder of 1 Million Cups Daytona Beach and Trep Factory. Art's area's of strength are strategic planning, marketing communication, management, leadership and e-commerce.



Jeff Badovick

Mr. Badovick is an executive level entrepreneur with a focus on innovative business strategies for growth stage companies. Jeff’s expertise lies in positioning small businesses for equity funding or debt financing as well as building momentum and creating growth potential through core business development and focus.  Jeff also specializes in developing exceptional teams of people that are key to turning ideas and opportunities into flourishing business growth. His ability to connect people across social, economic, and geographic boundaries opens new doors to reciprocal business relationships with broader community reach.  He has successfully funded, grown and sold several of his own entrepreneurial ventures with partnerships from various private, public, and institutional investors.


Lou Paris

Mr. Paris is a very active professional: On one side he is the Business Development and Communications Manager at CareerSource FV, on the other he is a professor of International Business and New Venture Creation in the School of Business Administration at Stetson University.


Charlie Reinholtz

Mr. Reinholtz is Professor and Chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He has been active in developing robotic devices, including unmanned and autonomous vehicle systems, for more than 30 years. Professor Reinholtz holds two U.S. patents and has authored a popular textbook and over one hundred and twenty five journal and conference papers in the areas of autonomous vehicles, robotics, kinematics and design. He has co-founded three successful companies working in the area of robotics and unmanned vehicle systems.


Jack Phifer

Mr. Phifer has over 30 years of consumer marketing experience across clients such as Procter and Gamble, General Motors, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Kellogg’s and Western Union Financial Services. He has been closely involved with developing next generation marketing talent for the last 20 years and has been involved with SCORE since 2008. His focus areas are strategic planning, branding development and company positioning. 


Connie Bernal

Ms. Bernal is the Site Manager for the UCF Business Incubator in Volusia County and is an International Business Professor at Stetson University. She has been recognized as the best business consultant by the Florida SBDC Network and as one of the Influential Women in Business by the Daytona Beach News Journal Business Report.


Robert Ludlow

Mr. Ludlow has been an active banking professional in the commercial and retail banking market for over 25 years. In 1994 Bob moved to SunTrust Bank where he worked in retail management and progressed to the team leader in the business banking. Bob managed a team of 12 Business Banking professionals for the last 10 years that covered Lake, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard and Flagler counties. In 2012 Bob came home to Volusia County to take a role as a commercial banker covering the center of Volusia County. Bob specializes in helping CFO’s, business owners, and entrepreneurs make a lasting connection with our bank. As a commercial relationship manager he takes a comprehensive approach to managing commercial lending, treasury management, deposit services, investment management as well as the personal banking relationships of his clients.

Dee Hamill
Accountant/Entrepreneurial Development Coordinator

Dee Hamill, based in Charleston, SC, works with  small businesses and startups in accounting and other useful consulting services. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master's degree in accounting from Mississippi College, and is becoming a Quickbooks Online Pro expert. Her background working with startups is specialized in entrepreneurial development, coaching and connecting early stage entrepreneurs from conception to potential engagements with Angel Investors. She organized several Startup Weekends in Mississippi before moving to Charleston 9 months ago. Aside from working with startups, she enjoys traveling and fitting as many adrenaline rushes into spare time as possible.

Claire Brubaker

Claire Brubaker, Executive Information Coordinator at SMA Behavioral Healthcare is a native to Daytona Beach. Having grown up in the area, she has deeply implanted herself in devoted community organizations such as the Leadership Daytona Alumni Council, Volusia Young Professional Group, and the Museum of Art & Sciences, MOAS Young Philanthropists. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with her Bachelor of Arts in Photographic Technology from the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies. Eager to capture life through the lens – she developed a freelance photography business, CE Photography.
