Your idea in 54 hours

Techstars Startup Weekend Latinx in Tech brings exposure, awareness, and an experiential way to learn about tech to the community. We aim to inspire potential entrepreneurs in the Latinx community to breathe life into their ideas and learn how to bridge the gap from ideation to prototype with customer validation.

We're gathering 100 Latinx entrepreneurs in the making and allies over 54 hours, in different cities to identify and design technology solutions to problems disproportionately facing the U.S. Latinx community.

Our main focus is on tech solutions, but we welcome all ideas that will help to create a future fueled by Latinx leadership and experiences.

Do you have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start or who to start with?
Techstars Startup Weekend is the place to look for a team, create a prototype of your idea, validate your business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, all in one weekend.

What do you need to bring?
Lots of energy! You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.

Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely! Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.

Techstars Startup Weekend is a full weekend long experience. Your ticket includes:
  • 7 full (and delicious) meals over the course of the weekend
  • Benefits and discounts from our global partners
  • One-on-one time with amazing mentors
  • A new network of developers, designers, and entrepreneurs eager, like you, to change the world.
  • All the internet and coffee you can consume.

Watch the video below to see what you can expect, and if you’re feeling inspired click on the “Buy Ticket” button now!

Event Judges

A.J. Yolofsky
Founding Partner

I love what I do. I help people, their families, and their businesses. My practice is about the positive. I help people build strong foundations and larger structures. Together, we plan for their future and the future of their loved ones.

Proud to Be a United States Marine:
I joined the Marine Corps because I wanted to give something back to my country. I didn’t want to just sit behind a desk; I wanted to challenge myself, lead an elite team of warriors, and travel the world. I was active duty from 1995–2001, then reserve from 2001–2010. But during my second deployment to the Middle East (1998–1999), I began looking ahead to the next phase of my life. I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I started researching higher education. Law became my focus because I saw a parallel between litigation strategy and military strategy. It seemed to be the natural extension of my career path at that point in time.

Choosing Business Law and Estate Planning:
Fast forward through my legal education and first decade of practice as a commercial litigator to the summer of 2016. As my own family grew and faced challenges, I realized how vital it is for people to be prepared for whatever life throws at them. At the same time, I decided commercial litigation was not the right practice area for me. As a result, I changed my focus to the transactional side of corporate law and added estate planning as a practice area.

I am passionate about helping people prepare for every possibility and protect their assets for the next generation.

CEO

Highly motivated for innovations.
Since child, I was always looking for creating solutions based on automation and I have started software programing very early in life until becoming System Analyst and in 1989 I started my own computer factory and we built a plant in Brazil, which was one of the first in Brazil.

In 1994 Due to one more economic country crisis, I had to close the factory and moved to USA and I began working as software and web developer when the Internet was just in its early stages in Seattle where I have helped to create a couple major websites in Seattle and I have moved to Los Angeles and worked in big projects as webmaster for a couple major website companies during the internet bubble from 1999 to 2002.

After that I started my own ISP providing Internet Access for several states in the US using the services from PacWest and created the first Cloud System and user file sharing system and copyrighted it as Networkfile.net in 2003 with users all over the world but due to conflict with a major music record company I had to shutdown the services of sharing files in 2005 which later became Google Cloud system.

Car racing was always my passion and I started racing professionally for the next 4 years with success all over the world winning several trophies and championships.

Since 2011 I am involved again in a new business enterprise for App Solutions with aim on AI, Robotics and IoT.
I have created and copyrighted an App called Eco Business Card and labeled now as HyperCard which carries a unique mobile technology in the world by working offline P2P as an AI personal assistant for business professionals.
