From idea to business in 54 hours

Do you have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start or who to start with?

Techstars Startup Weekend is the place to look for a team, create a prototype of your idea, validate your business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, all in one weekend.

What do you need to bring?

Lots of energy! You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.

Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely! Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.

Techstars Startup Weekend is a full weekend long experience. Your ticket includes:

  • 7 full (and delicious) meals over the course of the weekend
  • Benefits and discounts from our global partners
  • One-on-one time with amazing mentors
  • A new network of developers, designers, and entrepreneurs eager, like you, to change the world.
  • All the internet and coffee you can consume.

Watch the video below to see what you can expect, and if you’re feeling inspired click on the “Buy Ticket” button now!

Still have questions, feel free to reach us at “fortworth@startupweekend.org”.

Don’t wait any longer and join the Techstars Startup Weekend movement!

Reggi Kemp
CEO

As Chief Executive Officer for over 14 years, Reggi positioned Kemp and Sons General Services for growth, market expansion in specialized areas and profitability, strategically evaluating best industry practices as it related to community health, safety and air quality.  In 2019 Reggi, along with two other managing partners, launched RED Development Group because collectively they felt it was important for business owners to have business coaching platforms that were comprehensive, structured, curriculum based, data driven, and crafted in a manner that helps them comprehend the importance of building the business/enterprise with exit options. Reggi has always understood the importance of making critical investments in technology, implementing innovative processes and standardizing  procedures.  Realizing that their industry was devoid of regulatory mandates, she enforced hygienic training, standardize processes and provided monthly online educational modules. New accounts were required to have new equipment which eliminated cross contamination. As a result of her outstanding leadership and diverse constructive initiative, Reggi is now a trusted Certified Strategic Advisor in the area of Enterprise Business Development. Committed to helping Business Owners recognize and leverage their past and future  contributions to economic advancement in this progressively evolving, technological advanced business landscape, she uses. provenn pracitces that guide her clients in understanding how to cease opportunities to produce additional revenue and profit, grow their business, diversifying services, avoiding depending on one key employee, client or industry along with providing them a road map to recurring annuity based revenue that can be collected on a monthly basis, regardless of the industry. Reggi Sturns-Kemp is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University, College of Business and The University of Oklahoma, College of Architecture.  Upon graduating from college, Reggi was hired as a Regional Account Manager for a national health and beauty company.  Followed by years of working with the Federal Aviation Administration.  After which she completed her second degree, in the area of design and opened, owned and operated a Design and Construction Consulting Firm, called A Claim Design and Development.  Reggi joined forces with Larry Kemp to manage, and operate, a once small janitorial business, founded by her late Father in Law.  With her guidance Kemp and Sons General Services aggressively pursued federal government contracts and placed a strong emphasis on the Health, Transportation and Higher Education markets.  Awards for growth and expansion led to recognition by CNN Money, FORBES other leading magazines and Business Journals.  While working within the cleaning realm, she realized the need for Global Operating procedures and guidelines, professional curriculum and career paths, and lack of governance and consideration for fair wages within the industry.  Hence, she established a non-profit member organization called Trans-National Kempt Association to collectively take on those challenges.  The organization, understood the importance of standardizing cleaning procedures hence TNKA will be launching an educational component called, Public Health Institute for Environmental Safety Management [PHIESM] to provide a professional career track and other courses.A staunch community advocate and philanthropist, Reggi has served or is currently involved with the: Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business [10ksb], The Women’s Center of Tarrant County Board of Directors, RED Worldwide Advisory Board Member, Women Steering Business Board of Directors and Charter member, United Way of Tarrant County (former member of the Board of Directors), William Man Community Development Corporation [former Board of Director], United Way Special Allocations Committee on Homelessness [selected to serve]  and former member of Women’s President Organization, Leadership Fort Worth, American Society of Interior Designers, the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce-Huntsville, Alabama, and the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce.
