Krist Zimmerman
Senior Analyst / Project Manager

Krist Zimmerman works as a Senior Analyst at Marstel-Day, LLC; a local environmental and consulting firm in Fredericksburg. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 2009 after a 20-year career flying helicopters in operational, combat, and international missions throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. He started his own leadership and management consulting company in 2014 and has helped others develop their entrepreneurship skills and enhance their knowledge of available tools.

Daria Brezinski
Cyber Security Analyst for TriShield Integrated Security

Daria M. Brezinski, PhD is a socially responsible serial entrepreneur who owned six businesses among them the first holistic health center, first environmentally friendly wholesale-retail store (Earthwise) and built a Skatepark. She is currently the founder/Director of a non-profit foundation and host of a TV Show of the same title. In her private practice, she assists autistic Asperger youths to live independently and find jobs. As a professor, she teaches entrepreneurial courses at Piedmont Virginia Community College- 1) How to Start a Successful Business 2) How to Drive Traffic to Your Facebook, Linkedin and Websites 3) Cyber Security for Home and Work.

Dan Henderson
Investment Director

Dan joined CIT in 2013 and is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and closing seed and early stage investments. Dan comes to CIT from BeClose, a venture-backed wireless home health company, where he worked as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. At BeClose, Dan researched, designed and implemented a national distribution strategy and introduced numerous companies to BeClose technology. Prior to joining BeClose, Dan worked as Vice President of Marketing and Strategy at FastSoft, Inc, a web acceleration software startup; as the co-founder and President of Bhavan Media, a digital media company; and as co-founder and President of i-Vantage, an IT services consultancy. - See more at:

Paul Nolde
Angel Investing

Paul Nolde has over a decade of experience in the banking and finance industries serving in multiple sales and management roles for large and small institutions. As a director at New Richmond Ventures (NRV), an early stage venture investment firm in Richmond, VA, Paul leads their overall business development strategies, the firm's Service Partner Network, and their discernment process around new investment opportunities. Prior to arriving at NRV, he served as the Small Business Capital Strategist for Virginia Community Capital, Virginia’s largest community development financial institution. In this capacity Paul was responsible for building the firm’s venture debt portfolio focusing on growth companies, social enterprises, and healthy foods. Before coming to VCC he was Managing Director of a family office in Richmond, VA, preceded by positions at Wells Fargo, Union First Market Bank, and Bank of America. He is an active participant in, and advocate for, Central Virginia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, serving on the boards of several local startups and various departments at Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia. Paul graduated from UVA in 2001 with a B.A. in Foreign Affairs, complimented by post-grad business studies through the McIntire School of Commerce Business Institute. He lives in Richmond, VA, with his wife, two young boys, and Alaskan Husky.

Andrew Curtis
Co-Founder & Creative Director of vanguard ideation

Andrew is the Creative Director & Co-founder, focusing on helping clients in finding the right visual solution for their creative problems. He is also responsible for project management and designing anything from websites to logos. Andrew is a graduate from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art & Visual Technology (Graphic Design). During his time at Mason he was involved with AIGA GMU for 3 years in helping build the student design community. He is currently involved in various networks in the DC & Fredericksburg Area. He currently resides as a board member & designer for FredXchange. After attending Startup Weekend, Andrew became apart of the Sprelly Team, as a Designer & Creative Strategist, in helping the eatery become a franchise.

Amy Alexander
Brand Manager of The Story Collaborative

With more than a decade of experience in multimedia graphic design, Amy has worked in small business, nonprofit, and corporate settings. She has also worked alongside editors, photographers, web designers, and brand professionals in the Higher Education marketplace. At the University of Mary Washington, she helped develop and execute the creative elements of their re-brand campaign. With a unique understanding of brand development, execution, and management, Amy understands the living nature of a company's identity. Not only designing external marketing material and advertisements, she also informed the brand strategy of their social media voice. As co-founder and Principal at The Story Collaborative, Amy now works to understand and shape the communication strategies of her clients, providing creative direction in a truly multi-media world.

Christopher Muldrow

Chris Muldrow has worked in digital media since 1995. He helped build and worked with newspapers, local businesses and nonprofit organizations across the United States to establish their online brands. He is an energetic leader with proven expertise developing, expanding and managing digital media and technology operations and implementing new and emerging technologies, trends and communication strategies that generate multimillion-dollar revenues and significantly reduce costs for maximum profitability and growth. David Mills has been helping organizations grow for more than 25 years and has trained and written extensively on strategies that make stories count. He co-leads the Story Collaborative (, an organization that helps both nonprofits and businesses place their story into their customers hands. Key activities include Story Bridge, providing custom social network content, and the Grant Services Center, helping nonprofits tell their story to build support.

Bill Blevins
Co-Founder of Plants Map Inc.

Bill Blevins has been building digital startups since 1999. He is the co-founder of Plants Map Inc. (, the January 2014 Startup Weekend Fredericksburg winner and he was a coach for Startup Weekend Fredericksburg in 2013. Prior to launching his own business, Bill spent the 2 years consulting with startup founders on digital marketing and business strategy. He has held multiple C-level roles in online operations and business development for both public and private national media companies. Since 2006 Bill Blevins has served on the Board of Directors for Search Initiatives, Inc. ( in Temecula, CA.

Elizabeth Colon
Chief Operating Officer

After graduating from Penn State with degrees in both International Politics and Spanish, Liz spent several years as a leader in sales and training at a multi-million dollar business.  She followed that with five years at a fortune 500 company where she developed vast improvements in their employee hiring & training process.  While she loved her corporate career, Liz felt her passion pulling her towards small business.After starting a tutoring franchise, Liz quickly realized the struggles faced in finding quality events to participate in.  Combining her sales and small business experience she keeps 10by10 focused on making it easy for vendors to find quality events.

Sam Foltz
President, Foltz & Associates CPA

Sam Foltz founded our Foltz & Associates, CPA in 2004. He ensures that clients receive regular communication and the high quality services that the firm is known for, as well as overseeing the overall operation of the firm, public relations and client services. Sam’s specialized expertise includes payroll compliance, accounting processes, especially for the construction and retail industries. In addition to running Foltz & Associates, Sam is an adjunct instructor teaching accounting and tax courses for Germanna Community College and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. Prior to establishing Foltz & Associates, Sam worked as a controller in the heavy/highway construction industry. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree at University of Mary Washington and his Master of Science in Accounting at Liberty University. Sam is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also active in the community serving as Music and Youth Minister at Eley’s Ford Baptist Church in Spotsylvania, Virginia. Outside of the office, Sam keeps busy farming, fishing, and spending time with wife and four children.

Dan Light
Early Stage Advisor

Dan Light, founder of Dan Light Consulting, is a Consultant, Mentor, Coach, Speaker, Author and SCORE Mentor focusing on early stage companies. He was on the winning team at the Charlottesville, VA Startup Weekend in March 2014 and a Mentor at Start Peninsula 3.0 in March 2014. His career successes include 4 successful start-ups and an IPO. These included: Foxville Business Development Corporation, a business consulting practice for Defense contractors, Exposures Photography, a stock and freelance photography company, MALCO of Northern Virginia, an automotive and industrial chemical company, and Gatherings, an event planning service. He has contributed to the success of 18 of Washington Technology’s top 100 companies.

Melinda May
CFO / Vice Pres, Acct & Tax

Melinda May is a senior level financial, taxation and management executive with over twenty years of experience  in controlling costs, generating revenue and managing financial operations of multiple companies. Melinda received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Mary Washington College and her Master’s degree in Taxation from Virginia Commonwealth University.  She is a CPA and currently serves as the CFO for a real estate development and homebuilding company, Hazel Land Companies, Inc.   Melinda lives in one of the best suburbs of the nation’s capital – Fredericksburg, VA.  She is a graduate of the Leadership Fredericksburg program and has a strong commitment to the community. She serves on numerous local boards and committees including current positions with Rappahannock United Way and the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce.   Melinda is an active participant in the startup movement in the Fredericksburg region and stands ready to provide entrepreneurs and new business owners with the tools they need to succeed.  She is the current Vice President and Secretary for FredX Change, Inc – a nonprofit focused on creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem for startup businesses in the Fredericksburg area.

Ben Muldrow
Partner at Arnett Muldrow & Associates

Ben Muldrow, a Partner at Arnett Muldrow & Associates, has created more community branding systems than anyone else in the world. Ben is responsible for all community marketing and branding functions of the Greenville, SC-based urban planning firm and leads their Mid-Atlantic office from Milford, Delaware. Ben helps communities to develop their brand identity through an open process including public design sessions and collaborative small groups. As the pioneer of their groundbreaking process, Ben has designed new branding and marketing elements for revitalization projects in over 450 communities in 35 states. Ben is the founder of Downtown America, a national organization fostering downtown innovation in communities across America.

Leigh Minor Muldrow
Retail Therapist

A designer by default, she is a woman who has always had a love for retail therapy – big and small. Having served as the Vice President of a Main Street Board of Directors while owning a downtown small business herself, Leigh can speak directly to all the charms and challenges of running a downtown business. From painting the walls and crafting creative visual displays to strategically navigating the semi-annual buying markets, she has the experience of being both behind the counter and creating the effective downtown programs that have the potential to ring registers. In addition, Leigh worked as a successful interior designer prior to opening a retail store. She has spoken at various conferences such as National Main Streets, Destination Downtown, New Jersey State Main Street, and worked as a retail consultant in many downtown communities across the country, including serving on the Vermont Downtown Action Team.

Dave DiEugenio

Dave DiEugenio drives Imperatis’ cyber security initiatives, which provide comprehensive and adaptable solutions in information assurance, technology, engineering, and cyber security for U.S. military and civilian agencies worldwide. From the perimeter to the local host, Imperatis ensures confidentiality, integrity and availability of mission essential networks. Prior to joining Imperatis, he spent 24 years as an Officer of the U.S. Marine Corps, specializing in Leadership, C4 Systems Integration, and program management. A combat veteran with multiple deployments to the Middle East, Dave concluded his distinguished career as Executive Officer of the Marine Corps Network Operations and Security Center (MCNOSC), where he oversaw Cyber Operations and Defense of the Marine Corps Enterprise Network supporting more than 180,000 users worldwide.
