Teams start forming and discussing ideas

Start to formalize teams and take an inventory of skills. Be honest, and direct about what resources and skills are needed for the weekend. You may stay and work as late as the venue will allow

As a seasoned consultant, investment banker, private equity investor, and venture capital fund manager, Whitney possesses strong leadership skills, proven operating expertise, demonstrated sales leadership, and business development experience.

I am an advocate and mentor for entrepreneurs who want to change the world. My passion is propelling our culture from No to Yes, from reactive to proactive, to a strong service orientation, and to breaking down silos to form collaborative teams that impact success.

As a dynamic visionary in the startup community with extensive experience creating events to showcase local technologies, I have implemented the GAIN FastPitch, GAIN ShootOut, GAIN UnPlugged, Innovation Florida-Crash Course, the Kauffman Foundation 1 Million Cups and countless workshops covering funding along with real world guidance in starting a company. In 2015 I was one of the originators of GEM (Gainesville Entrepreneur Month) showcasing over 20 events in October collaboratively with other like-minded organizations including incubators and was recognized in proclamations by both Alachua County Commission and the City of Gainesville.

Dr. Michael Morris
George and Lisa Etheridge Professor of Entrepreneurship at University of Florida

Michael HMorris holds the George and Lisa Etheridge Professorship at the University of Florida, where he is the Academic Director of the Entrepreneurship Program. He previously was the N. Malone Mitchell Chair and founded the School of Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University, and before that launched the Department of Entrepreneurship at Syracuse University. Dr. Morris is a pioneer in curricular innovation and experiential learning. His entrepreneurial outreach efforts have facilitated the development of hundreds of ventures, and he has started three ventures of his own. Professor Morris is the director of the Experiential Classroom, founded in 1999, which shares best practices in entrepreneurship education with faculty from around the globe. He annually coordinates the Entrepreneurship Empowerment in South Africa Program, where faculty and students assist historically disadvantaged entrepreneurs build their companies. He has authored 11 books and published over 130 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He co-edits the Prentice-Hall Entrepreneurship Series, and is editor emeritus of the Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship.
