Speakers

Matthew Brown
Educator and Entrepreneur

Matthew Brown is a school administrator and entrepreneur with a strong background in integrating classroom technologies and improving the communication between school and home. As an assistant principal and after 14 years in the classroom, Matthew witnessed firsthand the struggle his school nurse had with the growing demands placed on them, as well as keeping track of visits and communicating student health concerns with parents. Taking this growing problem to the April 2014 Greater Lafayette StartUp Weekend, Matthew and the NursePass team (called OurSchoolNurse at the time) emerged as the winning company. The following September, NursePass was launched in the iTunes App Store. After months of testing and gathering critical feedback, the HIPPA compliant NursePass 2.0 launched in May of 2015. It was time to take NursePass on the road. With a goal of securing one user, Matthew took NursePass to the National Association of School Nurses conference in June. As of September, NursePass is patent pending and being used in several schools in the United States.
