Under the guidance of expert mentors, you'll work to launch your business idea over the course of Techstars' 54-hour entrepreneurship immersion experience.

You'll form an all-star team, create a prototype of your idea, validate it, receive feedback, continually iterate, and finally pitch to a panel of judges made up of top VCs and business people - all in one weekend!

Making an impact on veterans...

This year, we're partnering with Patriot Boot Camp to help advance military members, veterans and military spouses in their mission to become creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

The Startup Weekend Schedule

Friday Night: Ideas-O-Rama!
On Friday night, you'll pitch your own idea and/or listen to others. Everyone then votes on the most interesting ideas and form teams.

While it's not required that you pitch an idea on Friday night, it's highly encouraged. Half the fun of Startup Weekend is getting out of your comfort zone and doing something that makes you a little bit nervous. Also, while you can come with friends, you’ll have the best experience if you participate in separate teams and on different ideas.

Saturday: Your team loves the idea...but does anyone else?
Next up, you'll work with top mentors and coaches to refine your idea and get customer feedback. Don't freak out when all your ideas go out the window and you're forced to pivot. That's what a real startup is like.

Of course it seems like a great idea. You and your team have fallen in love with your idea. Your mom is so proud of you and is convinced that you're going to change the world. But what about the rest of the world?

Sunday: You've figured it out. Now how do you tell the world?
On Sunday, it's all about the pitch. You'll learn the exact emotional triggers that you should use to get traction.

It all comes together that night when you and your team present your work to a panel of judges including top VCs, business people, and community leaders.

There's only one rule - Your idea can't be something that you're currently working on.

The idea that you pitch and the problem you set out to solve at Startup Weekend has to be something completely new. It can't be something that you've previously worked on.

Startup Weekend is all about constant and rapid iteration and figuring out what problems customers are facing. If you already have a fully baked idea/business, you can't change quick enough and it won't be any fun for you or the other participants.

But don't worry - Startup Weekend is great for current founders, too. The skills that you learn and the people that you meet at Startup Weekend can easily be applied to your current startup.

Winners receive a full Founder Institute Fellowship!

We're proud to partner with The Founder Institute which will be awarding one fellowship to the veteran winner and a second fellowship to a non-veteran winner.
If you win, you'll be able to participate in the world-renowned pre-seed accelerator program for free. Details here:

Space is limited.

What makes Startup Weekend LI different from others is the size. Most others are huge - 100, 150, even 300 people! Our events are capped at 40 participants. This way there's plenty of one-on-one time with mentors and you're not overwhelmed. It's an experience like no other.
