Join Us at Startup Weekend Huntington!

On November 3rd, Marshall University, BB&T, and RCBI will host one of the most "hands-on" innovative events this year: Startup Weekend Huntington! This 52 hour event will allow you to experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure of making a startup. Attendees will form teams consisting of those who specialize in varying fields, from entrepreneurship to business to coding and more! By working together, your team will use those 52 hours to turn thoughts in actions. Presentations of the final products will be presented to a panel of experienced judges, and the top 3 groups will receive prizes!

Friday November 3rd


6:30 pm
Registration
Arrive at the event and get checked in


7:00 pm
Dinner & Networking
Eat food, share ideas, practice pitches, get to know fellow participants


7:20 pm
Welcome & Speakers
Review agenda for the weekend and introduce speakers, coaches, and community leaders


7:30 pm
Pitches Start
Optionally line up to give your pitch


9:00 pm
Voting
Attendees vote for the top pitches


9:15 pm
Form Teams
Teams start forming and discussing ideas


10:00 pm
Begin Work
Start to formalize teams and take an inventory of skills. Be honest, and direct about what resources and skills are needed for the weekend. You may stay and work as late as the venue will allow

Coaches and Mentors


Jeremy Turner
Managing Director

Jeremy Turner, a native of Huntington, WV, is the Founder and Managing Director of the nonprofit and small business coaching and consulting firm EPIC Mission. Since earning his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Marshall University in 1997, Jeremy has served in leadership roles for industry giants and grassroots startup ventures within the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Mr. Turner is also a DISC-Certified Behavioral Consultant and Certified Behavioral Life Coach with broad-ranging professional experience and a voracious appetite for self-directed learning. Jeremy is a sought after speaker, coach, consultant and workshop presenter, and has worked with many groups and organizations on topics including board development, business and nonprofit basics, succession planning, leadership, strategic planning, organizational development and human behavior. These skills and experiences continue to prove valuable as he and his team acquire and serve new clients, primarily throughout the Tri-State Area (WV, OH, KY) and the Carolinas.

Bryan Shaw

Bryan is a lifelong West Virginia native, Director of the RCBI TEN50 Business Accelerator, entrepreneur, self taught frontend web developer, and founder of Scaleable Ventures, Inc.  He doesn't miss an episode of Silicon Valley or GOT.  Loves  college football and basketball and recorded his first Ace at Surgarwood in 2015.
