Startup Weekend Louisville Helping Entrepreneurs Move, Evaluate & Execute Over a Weekend
Louisville, KY – Jan 20, 2015 – March 6th to 8th, entrepreneurs and creative minds will be taking over FirstBuild on the University of Louisville Belknap Campus. Organizers and volunteers of Startup Weekend Louisville have been working behind the scenes to ensure that this event provides not only inspiration, but also the resources required for building and launching a viable, scalable company. In the last 5 events, more than 300 area entrepreneurs presented over 100 ideas to gain valuable feedback and learn how to launch a company.
Startup Weekend Louisville facilitators share theory behind how to launch a company with like-minded individuals from a variety of backgrounds and unique life experiences. It is then up to the teams that rally behind a concept to put the theory into practice over the weekend. Movers and shakers in the region guide the startups to create a scalable business that meets a defined market need.
Having an idea is part of the equation to launching a startup, one of the other key parts is about the team. Because Startup Weekend attracts software engineers, designers, makers, marketers and anyone else interested in starting a business it is common for deep relationships to be formed. The relationships often grow beyond the confines of the weekend with new business formed and deeper relationships continue to cultivate to solve community problems.
"Startup Weekend is a can't miss event for any designer, budding entrepreneur, software developer, students and anyone that wants to challenge themselves by starting a business,” commented Katie Bush, Founder & Creative Director of Katie Bush Design. “I've participated in Louisville's Startup Weekend as a designer, mentor, judge and look forward to feeling the energy everyone brings." Katie Bush will share an energetic keynote on Friday, March 6, 2015 to kickoff the event, telling stories of her experience of working with startups around the United States.
There will be knowledgeable and successful entrepreneurs in attendance to inspire, share and mentor each team throughout the weekend. We hope to see you there!
