Unity Stoakes
President and Co-founder of StartUp Health

Unity is the President and co-founder of StartUp Health, a global health innovation company. Unity is on a mission to transform healthcare by leveraging the power of innovation, technology, data, design, and community. He believes that the best way to improve care is to provide health and wellness innovators with inspiration, education, and access to customers, capital, and other critical resources so that Healthcare Transformers can innovate more quickly.

Unity is a contributor to TechCrunch and co-host of StartUp Health Now, a weekly web show about Healthcare Transformers. Unity is a founding member of the Society of Participatory Medicine and a mentor at Blueprint Health, an accelerator for health and wellness startups. Unity is on the AARP Innovation @50+ Advisory Board, on the SXSW Accelerator Advisory Board and the Care Innovations Advisory Board. Phil Crumrine
Lead Product Visioneer at Blink

Launched in 2015, Blink uses technology developed at MIT Media Lab and powered by a smartphone to dramatically improve the convenience and accessibility of vision testing services. Blink uses highly trained Visioneers to conduct in-home vision tests in concert with a network of licensed optometrists to provide personalized eyecare solutions. The Blink service is based on FDA registered technology and products from EyeNetra. EyeNetra, the company behind Blink, was founded to develop and commercialize current and future MIT Media Lab research on methods to use smartphones to deliver personalized vision correction to the masses. The founders gained their insight into new solutions for eyecare through their experiences using new computational methods for measuring optics and the human eye at MIT Media Lab, David’s experiences in a family of optometrists, and the benefits telemedicine and point of care diagnostics has on health care. Blink/EyeNetra are backed by Khosla Ventures and a large strategic investor. Blink is currently available in NYC.

The Lead Product Visioneer takes EyeNetra’s technology to the next level of usability and user experience by enhancing customer service, product functionality, and communication with Optometrists.

Phil joined Blink's team one year ago. Originally from KS, Phil knows how to simplify and cut to the chase. Phil joined Blink in an effort to universalize the application, training, and delivery of the Blink Vision Testing Service.

Managing Director of Relativity Healthcare Partners

Alfonso Chang, CFA is a Managing Director of Relativity Healthcare Partners, an investment group dedicated to providing growth capital to emerging healthcare companies, including those involved in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, devices, services, and technology. Concurrently, Alfonso is a Managing Director of The AC3 Group, a boutique strategy consultancy. As a strategist, he advises mainly healthcare companies on financial and strategic topics, including alliances, corporate finance, deal structuring, lifecycle management, marketing, product development /management, and strategic planning. Alfonso is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, has an MBA from the University of Michigan, and has a BSE in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Board of Directors of BioAnalytix and Health Republic Insurance of New York, and he is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.


Teresa Dietrich
SVP Technology Ops & Security at WebMD

Teresa's passion for Operational Excellence, Technical Innovation and Web Scale Systems has been the focus of her 18 years in the Internet Industry. She is currently the SVP of Technology Operations and Security and the Chief Security Officer at WebMD where she has been for the last 8+ years. An engineer at heart, Teresa loves to solve problems whether they involve technical, process or people issues. She continues to focus on expanding roles and responsibilities within Executive Leadership positions in Technology, Media and Services companies with a Global focus. Previously, Teresa spent nearly 10 years in positions throughout AOL Technology.

Currently, Teresa leads, develops and scales the Technical Operations organization at WebMD of 85+ engineers. Her team builds, manages and supports WebMD.com, Medscape.com, and multiple O&O sites that reach an average of 132 million unique users and deliver nearly 1 billion page views each month. They have responsibility for all production operations for our Consumer and Professional portals as well as Corporate Technology for 1700+ employees. 


Jon Gold
Product Manager at Oscar Health

Jon has over five years’ experience working across the health and wellness space. He’s currently a product manager at Oscar Insurance, focusing on the member website. Previously, he was at Noom, a wellness technology company looking at weight loss through the lens of behavior modification. His first role was at Hotspur Technologies, where he honed his marketing and finance skills. That start-up built and commercialized a novel balloon catheter before it was acquired in 2012. Jon earned BAs in political science and international relations at UC Davis. To keep himself a bit busier, Jon also TAs for General Assembly's Product Management course.


Lee Moulton
Head of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development at Breather

Lee Moulton is the Head of Strategic Partnerships at Breather, a start-up providing hourly office and relaxation space rentals in metropolitan cities.

Prior to joining Breather, Lee spent 6 years at Goldman Sachs working in various capacities including as a Client Strategist for the Chairman & CEO of the firm. He also spent time as a member of the Institutional Sales team in the firm's Asset Management Division.

Between leaving Goldman Sachs and joining Breather, Lee served as a Business Development consultant to various start-ups including Paay.co, Vayable, Keystats and Work Better.

Lee is a Founding Director, at Youth Action International, a humanitarian non-profit organization focused on rebuilding war-torn African countries.

Lee obtained a B.A. in Political Science from Amherst College in 2007.

Bill Tan
Founder of Transcendent Endeavors

Bill Z. Tan is the founder of Transcendent Endeavors, a builder of innovative companies and products that improve communication. As the Principal Investigator for multiple NIH innovation awards, his work places a strong emphasis on helping underserved communities overcome barriers in healthcare, social services, and education. The company’s growing portfolio of endeavors include the Starling bedside patient request system that is transforming patient care and nurse workflow, the Canopy suite of products that is enabling the delivery of patient-centered care in over a dozen languages.

Bill was named one of Crain’s 40 Under 40 Rising Stars, and was named by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg as a New York City Venture Fellow. He previously held an appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine, and currently serves on the External Advisory Board for the Center for Advanced Information Management at Columbia University. Bill earned a bachelor’s degree from the Stern School of Business at New York University, where he was elected president of the entrepreneurs club.

Mamta has a breadth of experience in healthcare, including advising life sciences companies on commercial and clinical decisions and business development for digital health and genomics startups. Munib Bhandari
Entrepreneur, Business consultant

Entrepreneur with a background in business development and sales. Launched a global company which operated out of the U.S & Asia; activities include exporting Health and Personal Care products from the U.S and China and marketing and distributing these products on a Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) model in India and Bangladesh. Partnered with Bayer Health Care on launching a new diabetic device; Bayer A1C NOW in the Bangladesh market as the sole distributor. Partnered with top pathologists and hospitals and conducted clinical trials. Currently working as a business consultant for a midsized firm in the Strategy & Operations practice. 


Joshua Long
Product Design Lead at Oscar Health

Currently Josh is working as a product design lead at Oscar Health. Previous to joining Oscar, Josh was working as a designer at Code & Theory, R/GA, and LBi. In his free time he continues his graphical pursuits in a variety of self initiated projects as well as creating work with his girlfriend and partner under the pseudonym, Chico & Lui. 


Sean Echevarria
Marketing Manager at Motivate Design

Before you can finish your question, Sean has already said “yes!” and is halfway to the finish line. He is passionate about technology and entrepreneurship, and can always be found networking at a Meetup somewhere in the city. He is the lead organizer for The UX Lab, and is involved in several other startup efforts. He is currently Motivate Design's Marketing Manager where he hopes to raise brand awareness and focuses his daily efforts on turning Motivate into a household name. Sean graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, but has developed his business mindset since selling real estate at age 18 and launching the next best thing in packaging in Jar~with~a~Twist.


Craig DiFolco
The Pitch Doctor

Craig, The Pitch Doctor, is a public speaking and media coach dedicated to the art of narrative, film & video, and communication. Since receiving his MFA from Columbia University, he has served as a presentation coach for over ten years, as well as a producer for Sunnyside Films.


Marcela Guaman
Volunteer Director

Marcela has vast experience in the technology industry and has been part of the Tech Startup community for the past 5 years. She held management positions at tech companies such as Lectra, Avantica Technologies and Bluesmart Technologies. She is an organizer of the Stamford Startup Weekend and holds a degree in International Management from Pace University. Marcela also received her teaching certification from Samyak Yoga Center in Dharamshala, India for Ashtanga Vinyasa and has been practicing Yoga for 10 years. She embraces the possibility to find contentment and peace through the practice of yoga; to live with more simplicity, balance, and presence.


David Kay
Tech Entrepreneur

David Kay is a on a mission to simplify medical diagnostics by wielding modern technology. He currently leads software development at SALT, a medical device startup focused on bringing hassle-free salt monitoring to patients at home.

Happy to have been a Google engineer, and even happier to have rapidly resigned, David feels most alive when pushing his own boundaries and the stakes are high.

He was the founding CTO at EnHatch, which provides sales and marketing technology to medical device companies, and the founding CTO of Authy, a security startup which was recently acquired by Twilio.

David also deeply enjoys teaching, and has led mobile development workshops at Princeton University and Rutgers University, taught Ruby on Rails at iHub Nairobi, and served as an Android instructor at General Assembly.

His technical achievements include:

Shawn Dimantha
Consultant and Advisor

Shawn has spent his entire career in healthcare and technology. He currently is a consultant and advisor to companies and investors entering the digital health space, and most recently co-founded a digital health company focused on providing clinical outcome value to cardiovascular health patients. Prior to that Shawn was a research analyst at the early/mid stage venture capital firm RRE Ventures, where he evaluated several consumer health markets and startups in the online pharmacy, elder care, diabetes tech, and self-insured employer solutions verticals. Before RRE he led the development of several digital health market research products at Manhattan Research focused on the digital behaviors/trends of consumers, healthcare professionals and payers. Shawn started his career at ZS Associates where he focused on commercialization strategy issues for biopharmaceutical companies with a focus on sales/marketing analytics and data science. He has a BSc. in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.


Peter Castellano
Attorney, Former Trainer, Health/Nutrition Entrepreneur

Professional (lawyer) with many interests, primarily health, medicine, nutrition, and fitness. Looking for innovative ways to build a fitness/nutrition related business. Have experience starting a company as well as advising new companies on legal and business issues. Also 12 years in investment banking/financial field give me some additional perspective
