Portland Startup Weekend is thrilled to have Paige Hendrix Buckner, a Portland Startup Weekend Alumni and winner of Startup PDX Challenge, as our keynote speaker.

Paige Hendrix Buckner is the co-founder and CEO of Tique Box, a company that features Portland artisans through a monthly subscription and gift box service. Paige is passionate about the intersection of entrepreneurship, education and technology.

A native of Missouri, Paige studied international relations and geography at the University of Missouri and co-founded Stop Traffic, a student organization dedicated to raising awareness about human trafficking. After graduation, she moved to Las Vegas to teach fourth and fifth grade as a Teach For America Corps Member. When she wasn’t teaching, she worked as the Co-Director of Not For Sale Nevada, a state chapter of a global anti-human trafficking organization. Paige relocated to Portland in 2011 to be closer to her husband Darren Buckner.

While working as a policy advisor at Multnomah County, she attended her first Startup Weekend and was eager to pursue the startup path. In 2013, she launched Tique Box and decided to take the leap into entrepreneurship full time in April 2014. When she isn’t working, Paige loves practicing jiu jitsu, crocheting and adventures with friends.
