Speakers


Grace Andrews

Grace Andrews recently wrapped up her time as a cofounder for local company, graphAlchemist and is on to her latest professional adventures.  She's currently working at Puppet Labs, while also building out a new project called Lurébel (an online fashion app).
Grace has a background in the social sciences and is passionate about empathetic technologies and open source software. She's also focused on building and developing tech that makes life more enjoyable.
Grace has previously worked with early stage startups in the emerging markets and spent time in Sao Paulo, Brazil sourcing local companies.
Grace's longterm mission is to make technology reflective of the rich tapestry of diversity that exists in the world.

Stephen Green
Vice President, Market Manager at Albina Community Bank

Stephen Green is part entrepreneur, economist & numbers guy with a penchant for always seeing the glass half full and is a firm believer that done beats perfect. With 20 years in entrepreneurship (starting his first  business while in college) and an established career in finance and lending, he hopes to continue to support entrepreneurs.By day as Vice-President & Market Manager at Albina Community Bank, Stephen helps business and property owners find access to the capital they need to get their projects off the ground.

Stephen’s current entrepreneurial roles include a contractor for Nike, providing strategy assistance to small business owners & co-founder of the nation’s first nonprofit brewpub & brewery (Oregon Public House) which in its third year in operation is poised to break the $1M revenue mark and will be opening its second location in 2017.He currently sits on the board of directors for six area nonprofits that are all based in N/NE Portland that support economic development, community development & education. He is the past board-chair for the Black United Fund of Oregon is the current Treasurer at the Oregon Public House. He is a Portland area native and graduated with a BS degree in economics from Western Oregon University.


Deldelp Medina
CEO & Co-Founder at Avion Ventures

Deldelp Medina is the founder and CEO of Avión Ventures.  A Latina focused accelerator for mobile platforms based in San Francisco. This unique program is for U.S. born Latinas and Latin-Americans. This program is a combination of in person & virtual curriculum designed to grow the opportunities of Latinas in tech. She is on the board of Latino Startup Alliance, where she is working to make tech entrepreneurship a priority in the Latino community. She has spent over 10 years working with the Latino community in the tech, arts, humanities, non-profit, and social justice fields. Asking big questions is her passion, and she is committed to bringing that passion to large audiences. 


Sara Conte
Principal at SGC Ventures

Startup co-founder in the crossroads of design and technology. Seasoned in the entrepreneurial art of "figure it out" backed with a Harvard MBA.

Currently working primarily with private equity groups to evaluate market opportunity in digital investments.

Previous experience includes being the co-founder of PrestoBox, the world's first automated branding agency. Before that was Greenstar, a recycling company setting a new standard. Exited that company while it was being sold to Waste Management. Helped create the business while working for its private-equity parent company (NTR plc) in Europe.

Paola Moretto
CEO at Nouvola

Paola is a proven technology executive with more than 20 years of experience in leading organizations both at startups and established companies. She’s run everything from product teams at Intel developing first generation wireless and cloud solutions to startup dev teams in the wireless space. The seeds of the idea for Nouvola were planted when she was director of Software for Intel’s Data Center Group, where she worked on solving scalability issues for companies like Facebook. She has a Masters in both Physics and Computer Science.


Genevieve Morganstern

CEO and Co-Founder of Sadie, an Express Fashion Product Photography platform which is creating a new layer in the eCommerce stack for apparel, accessories and fashion brands. She also runs a non-profit called Nayariva which equips and empowers women entrepreneurs globally. 


Coaches and Mentors


Miriam Guevara-Nelson

15-year background in business, international marketing and market research. She has her own marketing consulting practice and has held a number of positions in telecom and IT companies such as Microsoft and eBay. Miriam’s experience as a project manager includes large international qualitative and quantitative projects in industries such as high-tech, financial, consumer and social media. She holds an MBA from La Trobe University in Australia.

Jillian Cardona
Creative Director, Cardona Law, Founder of Cleanhabit

Jillian Cardona has a doctorate in law and currently works as the creative director for Cardona Law. She is also the Co-Founder and CEO of Clean Habit, a company focused on natural and organic skincare products made in the Santa Barbara area. 


Mark Cardona
Attorney

Mark is an attorney at Cardona Law in downtown Santa Barbara. 

He was the director of operations at Otojoy, and attend LaVerne College of Law.

Vinay Rao

Vinay Rao is the Strategy & Business Development lead at Xerox Corporation in Portland. He started his career as an Engineer, involved in a series of startups In India until he moved to USA. He has an MBA and Engineering degree; can seamlessly move between technical and business conversations. During his time at Xerox Corporation Vinay has worked in Strategy, interacted heavily with famous Xerox Research Labs and incubators, Led Product Management and Marketing teams. While he is currently involved in a Startup, he also mentors small businesses through Mercy Corp’s MicroMentor program. He is interested in helping entrepreneurs with Monetization ideas, Business Models, Product-Market Fit and Customer Validation.



Andrea Kelly
Marketing Manager at Quick Left

Andrea is the Marketing Manager for Quick Left in Portland. She made her way back to the US recently after traveling and working in Chile for the past 7 years. A native of Oregon, her international travel bug started early; her mother is from Chile, and she lived in Seoul, South Korea as a child. Andrea’s interest in the way people communicate lead her to a degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon and a Masters in Strategic Communications from the Universidad Católica de Chile. Most recently she was managing Merchant Marketing for Groupon Latin America where she was inspired by the positive ways technology helped local businesses in the region. She is interested in helping entrepreneurs with Go to Market Strategy, Marketing Strategy, and Demand/Lead Generation. 


Dave Barcos
Founder

Dave Barcos has been an advertising and marketing professional for close to 30 years. During his career he has been a professional designer, art director and creative director for companies like Nike, Intel, Adidas and Microsoft and many, many more. He has worked both directly with these companies as well as the creative agencies that produce some of their most notable work. Since 2013 Dave has worked extensively within the startup community bring his vast branding and marketing expertise to bear on startup companies. His current company The Bridge is creating great resources for founders and early-stage entrepreneurs in Clark County.


Don Webb
Independent Consultant

Grounded in consumer and industrial products, Don is a B2B & B2C strategist addressing all aspects of the value chain from product conception to end user – with emphasis on sales, merchandising, marketing, and operations. He served on the team assembled to develop the Ashley HomeStore business model which today is the nation’s #1 retailer of home furnishing & décor products, and has guided growth and diversification efforts that include channel partnerships with Amazon, Better Homes and Gardens, Wayfair, Costco, The Home Depot, and other notable companies within their respective competitive space. Don possesses an MBA from Marylhurst University with concentration in marketing and finance.


Tricia Juettemeyer
Business and IP Attorney at Immix Law

Tricia is a business and intellectual property attorney with Immix Law Group. Tricia’s career path began in the creative/technical media environment, working as an assistant editor in post-production for television. There, she assisted with post for television shows, talk shows, live music productions, and commercials. Tricia went on to attend graduate school, which led to her career as an academic librarian. As a reference and teaching librarian, Tricia used her technical skills to develop access to online resources, web-based tutorials, and course reference guides for college students and faculty. Later, as a library director for a college in Portland, Tricia became skilled in the administration of running the library’s budget, personnel, and resources. Over time, Tricia learned the many and varied ways copyright law interrelates with the academic library, which sparked her interest in a legal career leading her to law school and then Immix Law Group. As a business and intellectual property attorney at Immix, Tricia assists clients with legal issues including formation, contracts, and governance, as well as trademark and copyright matters.
