Katherine Krajnak
Senior Industry Liaison - Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Katherine is a Senior Industry Liaison at the Prosper Portland, the development agency for Portland, Oregon. Her current focus involves projects and initiatives to bolster Portland’s high-growth entrepreneurs across industry and throughout the city, including management of the city’s annual startup competition and incubator, Startup PDX Challenge and launch of the city’s first Inclusive Startup Fund.  A core focus of her work is building partnerships, connections and programs to make Portland’s startup and technology community more inclusive for startups led by 
women and people of color. Follow her at StartupCityPDX.

Katherine has a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University and has worked in the field of economic development for over a decade.


Nitin Rai
President TIE ORegon

Nitin Rai has over 28 years of experience in the technology industry. He is currently President and CEO of First Insight Corporation.   Nitin is a visionary and an entrepreneurial leader. His broad range of experience includes technology development, capital raising, sales, marketing, finance and operations management.   Nitin is a founding charter and board member of TiE Oregon since 2007.  He is currently president of TiE and Chair of TiE Oregon Angels and will be joining TiE’s Global Board in January 206.   Nitin helped launch TiE Angels Oregon in 2011 and serves as its Chair. Since then, Nitin has personally invested over $300,000 in 13 Oregon-based startups. He has personally led or co-led several angel investments and currently serves on the board of GlobeSherpa, EdCalibur, MobileRQ and CloundEngage and board observer at Chirpify.    He plays an active role as a mentor, advisor to CEOs and founders of many of his portfolio companies and actively participates in pitch meetings and mentoring activities at TiE and other local organizations.   Under Nitin’s leadership TIE Oregon Angels has invested over $5 Million in 25 startups to-date. Nitin recently received $250,000 from Oregon Growth Board as an investment in to a side car fund called TAP-I where Nitin along with Vera Sell, will manage a $300,000 co-investment with TIE Angels Oregon.   Nitin has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada.


Adam Stoll
Associate at Rogue Venture Partners

Adam is an Associate at Rogue Venture Partners – a Portland based Private Equity Firm. Prior to Rogue, Adam was the CFO and Lead IT Architect of Smart Choice MRI, a growth focused privately held healthcare services company based in Milwaukee, WI.  In that position, Adam oversaw all financial operations and focused on overarching financial strategy and planning.  Prior to his role at Smart Choice, Adam was a Global Program Manager for Exit Games, a German based, venture capital backed technology company. Adam graduated with a BA in International Comparative Policy Studies and Political Science from Reed College in Portland, Oregon. He then received an MBA with honors from the Lubar School of Business at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Adam is a fluent Spanish and Catalan speaker and loves to garden and be in the mountains whenever possible.

Jillian Cardona has a doctorate in law and currently works as the creative director for Cardona Law. She is also the Co-Founder and CEO of Clean Habit, a company focused on natural and organic skincare products made in the Santa Barbara area. 


Michael DeSalvo

 is an International Business Leader with experience developing product and strategy while growing multi-national teams to serve a diverse global market.  He has served in C-Level and other leadership positions in NA and EMEA within Product and Business Development.  Working both for start-ups and Fortune 500 from Silicon Valley to the UK and EMEA.  Recently relocated back home to Oregon.

Ann McQuesten is an associate in the Portland office, where she represents clients in a range of corporate legal matters. Her practice includes securities, financings, entity formation and governance, and general business law. Ann graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2011, where she focused her studies on business law.Prior to joining White Summers Caffee & James, Ann was an associate at a Portland firm specializing in the representation of emerging businesses and entrepreneurs. In that position, she gained experience in transactional and litigation matters involving corporate governance, shareholder and partnership agreements and disputes, intellectual property, and employment law.

Jennie Rodriguez

Jennie is President and owner of Twirl Advertising and Design, LLC, a full-service, strategically 
creative shop that provides advertising & marketing communications to clients large and small.
She brings over 25+ years of integrated-marketing experience across a broad range of 
retail and B2B clients. With an agency background in both the general and Hispanic markets, 
Jennie’s talents reach a wide net. She is committed to social causes and serves on several non-profit boards. Jennie is a native Chicagoan acquiring her BA degree from Columbia College.

John Baldo
Product Manager

John is the program manager of Startup Weekend Education where he develops resources and programs to help anyone engage in entrepreneurship to solve problems in education. He is a software engineer by trade and recently worked on several K-12 edtech products at Amplify. He briefly worked as a Pre-Algebra and Geometry Teacher. His current side hustle is building community in hometown of Oakland.

He was the director of operations at Otojoy, and attend LaVerne College of Law.
