The Biggest Event for Entrepreneurship This Fall!

This fall we're organizing a MEGA Startup Weekend event at the new downtown library. This is the 1st where we will tackle hardware as well as software innovation.  The MEGA event will blend entrepreneurial skills in web and mobile software development with new means of making:  3D printing, robotics, hackable hardware, and more.  The venue will be decked out with tools from laser cutters to soldering irons, small computers and smart sensors. The event in San Diego will also be part of the Global Startup Battle ( a competition to inspire the entrepreneurs around the globe.

The Startup Weekend team in San Diego is dedicated to helping our local community be a great place to launch new businesses.  Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 400 past events in 100 countries. All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is encouraged to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54-hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing and market validation.
