Kevin Croy
Partner at 9MileLabs

Kevin is a co-founder and partner at 9Mile Labs, Seattle's B2B-focused tech startup accelerator. As of August 1st, 9Mile will have invested in 28 startups since it’s inception a few short years ago. Prior to starting 9Mile Labs and focusing on helping other entrepreneurs, Kevin co-founded five startups himself and successfully exited twice. He began his career as a technologist, but found his true passion is the business side of startups. He earned an MBA from the University of Washington and enjoys helping entrepreneurs innovate their products and business models, prepare funding strategies, and operate their businesses.

Tim Porter
Managing Director - Madrona

At Madrona: Tim will look at new companies across all of Madrona’s investment areas but has an emphasis on the software, infrastructure, and wireless sectors. He is particularly interested in SaaS, cloud computing, next-generation enterprise data centers, and opportunities created by new mobile platforms. Tim serves on the boards of Algorithmia, Context Relevant and Union Bay Networks and is a board observer for Apptio, ExtraHop Networks, Impinj, Jama Software, Jobaline, Skytap, Smartsheet, and Z2. He was previously on the boards of buuteeq (acquired by The Priceline Group, Inc.), Mobilisafe (acquired by Rapid7), Appature (acquired by IMS Health), and AppFog (acquired by CenturyLink Savvis). Tim is also a member of the three-person Investment Committee for the Alliance of Angels Seed Fund. Past lives: Prior to joining Madrona in 2006, Tim was a key member of Microsoft’s Corporate Development group, where he shared responsibilities for sourcing, structuring, and negotiating Microsoft’s acquisitions, strategic investments and joint ventures. While at Microsoft, Tim focused on enterprise software, security, and mobile and closed 14 transactions for over $850 million. Notable transactions included Microsoft’s acquisitions of Softricity, FrontBridge Technologies, ProClarity, Whale Communications, and Giant Company Software. Earlier in his career, Tim worked nearly five years for broadband satellite start-up Teledesic, spending his last year there also working for Craig McCaw’s Eagle River Investments. Extracurricular: Outside of work, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. He is also a sports junkie and enjoys watching and playing basketball, despite having lost the step he never had. Education: Tim received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.


Jason Eglit
CFO

Jason Eglit joined the Whitepages team in 2013, and was previously a Principal at Bayside Capital where he led investments across a variety of sectors. He was also a financial leader at AdvancePath Academics and Bain & Company. He has a BA in Physics from Williams College, a MS in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University and a MBA from Dartmouth College.

Rob Adams
Managing Partner at XTT Consulting LLC

Rob is the owner and managing partner of of XTT Consulting, providing advisory, strategy and diligence services for entrepreneurs, startups, venture capital, private equity and fortune 100’s.  Rob is also an angel investor with investments in a number of local startups and is also investor in 9Mile Labs. Rob is a current mentor at 9Mile Labs as well as at the Alchemist Accelerator in Palo Alto.  Before forming XTT, Rob lead the Corporate Development Technology group at Cisco Systems, responsible for diligence on acquisitions, technology strategy and investment portfolio management.  He can offer advice on a wide range of start up topics  from operational to strategic and foundational. 



Bill Bryant
Partner DFJ

William (Bill) Bryant has had early involvement in >25 leading sw/Internet/digital media/mobile cos, serving as founder, senior exec, investor & BOD member. He is currently a Partner with Draper Fisher Jurvetson, serving on the BODs of portfolio cos Chef, Ping Identity, The Clymb, Bright Computing, Z2Live. Most recently he founded Airworks where he is Chairman.

Stephan Prockow
UX Web Developer at Avalara

Stephen is a UX Developer at Avalara, a local company doing sales tax automation. He has over 6 years of experience creating web applications for both startups and large companies. He's currently using pure Javascript frameworks, but also has worked with the traditional stacks using .NET MVC. He's passionate about code craftsmanship, agile iterative development, and coffee. Stephen is a veteran Startup Weekend organizer and attendee. He can share advice on both technical issues and how to get through the weekend successfully.


Thibaut Labarre
Software Development Manager at Amazon

Engineering Manager with a Darwinian approach to innovation and long time Startup Weekend participant and organizer. Over the past 4 and a half years at Amazon, Thibaut built Heartbeat, a tool that leverage Natural Language Processing to combine millions of data points from disparate sources like product reviews, customer contacts, and social media to provide this information to worldwide product teams. 4k users access the tool every month to meet operational cost reduction goals and drive product improvements. Heartbeat started as his internship project and is now developed by a team of 14 engineers.


Kathy Kam
Technical Program Manager at Google

Kathy is a Technical Program Manager for the Google Cloud Platform. She has extensive experience in API design and teaches API design within Google. She has extensive experience with both web and client technologies. Before Google, she worked on strategies to help developer better monetize on the Windows platform. She has a passion for startup and has coached many startup weekends. She is also an investor with the Seattle Angel Conference.


Lisa Abdilova
CEO, Founder at Well Connected Now

Studied Psychology & Science, Technology and Society at Stanford, supported Marketing Communications for mobile payments startup Bling Nation, followed by Microsoft roles in Product Marketing, Tech Evangelism, and Search Advertising Account Management.

Passionate about customer centricity, innovative technology, and experiential marketing. Value product quality coupled with beautiful design, and am interested in telehealth, UX, career coaching, and industry trends. 


Sanjay Puri

Joey Kotkins
CMO & Co-founder at Inside Social

Joey is CMO and Co-Founder of Inside Social. He is committed to educating the world that social media can bring meaningful business results and that social marketing can be measured and optimized to do so. As the leader of the Inside Social's sales and marketing, he has brought Inside Social's technology to a multitude of Fortune 500 companies within the first year of launch. Joey previously built one of the first friend-based recommendation applications on top of Facebook along with co-founder Brewster Stanislaw and has been committed to maximizing the value of social media since. He previously was a leader in management operations for ABM Industries, helping run their Northeast Portfolio. Joey is a graduate of Duke University with a B.A. in Economics and Psychology.

Ewelina Kieley
Founder and CEO at Makapen Inc

Ewelina is an entrepreneur helping startups build prototypes and MVPs with less waste and less upfront costs. She began her career in biochemistry research and later cofounded a bakery and cafe in Atlanta Georgia. Once the cafe was up and running, she moved to Seattle to continue working with early stage businesses. At Makapen Inc, she supports non-technical founders in the process of building out their web products.


Hakon Verespej
Growth Hacker at Madrona

Hakon is part of the team at Madrona Venture Group, a Seattle-based venture capital firm, where he works with portfolio companies to accelerate their growth. He’s participated in and organized dozens of hackathons. Prior to Madrona, Hakon was a software engineer at Microsoft and at a software startup.
