Start a company in less than 48 hours!

Do you have a crazy business idea? Do you have the skills to bring an idea to life? Are you just extremely enthusiastic and along for the ride?

If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, InnovateUA's Startup Weekend is for you! Team up with fellow UA students to build a business from scratch, with the guidance and support of local professionals. At the end of the weekend, teams will showcase their progress and winners will be announced!

Startup Weekend is a great way to meet students who are passionate about entrepreneurship, hone your engineering and development skills, or find the motivation to start making your vision a reality. We hope to see you there!

EVENT SCHEDULE

Friday February 12th


5:00 pm
Registration
Arrive at the venue and get checked in


5:30 pm
Dinner & Networking
Eat food, share ideas, practice pitches, get to know fellow participants


6:00 pm
Welcome & Speakers
Review agenda for the weekend and introduce speakers, coaches, and community leaders


6:30 pm
Pitches Start
Pitch any ideas you have and hear what everyone else has thought of


7:00 pm
Voting
Attendees vote for the top pitches


7:30 pm
Form Teams
Teams start forming and discussing ideas


8:00 pm
Begin Work
Start to formalize teams and take an inventory of skills. Be honest and direct about what resources and skills are needed for the weekend. You may stay and work until 1am

Saturday February 13th

Arrive, simple breakfast & coffee

Begin Work
Teams formed and setting up workspace for the weekend

After-lunch check-in, status reports, call for help

Mentor Meetings
Mentors work with teams one-on-one. Ask for whatever help you need!

Ian Tracey
Chief Organizer at Hack Arizona & Software Engineer at Latitude

Ian is the co-founder and Chief Organizer at Hack Arizona where he works to build a world-class hacker culture here in the southwest through a 36 hour hackathon event which features over 700 students and 30 sponsoring organizations. Ianalso helps build autonomous drone software at Latitude Engineering. Ian has a background in tech startups and consulting and he was a part of the winning team of Startup Weekend Tucson in 2013.

Tony Ford has over 20 years experience in media and management. He directs social media, new media, and web media content creation and marketing for Sparc Interactive, ArtFire.com and is the founder of Maker House, the worlds first artisan driven maker space in Tucson, AZ.
