Why is Empathy important in innovation?

Most successful innovation companies and startups have one thing in common: They deeply understand their users' needs and are constantly adapting to meet them.

During this fast-paced, hands-on workshop, you'll learn about the importance of empathy in innovation and actually practice empathy-building techniques with an emphasis on conducting customer interviews.

This workshop will borrow heavily from the world of design thinking and will reference methods from institutions and organizations like The Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford, IDEO, and beyond.

Refreshments and light food served.

Note: This is the first in a series of 3 workshops covering “lean startup” skills in anticipation of 2016 Twin Cities Startup Weekend Education (Feb. 26-28, 2016). Workshops are jointly developed and sponsored by Educelerate North and Startup Weekend Education.

This workshop is kindly hosted by St. Catherine University.
