Event Judges

Jami Jerman
Lead Designer & Senior UX/UI Developer

Jami grew up in Wichita and received her BFA in Graphic Design from WSU, after completing two years of college in Montreal. She brings over ten years of experience to the Baseline Creative team, including work at agencies, studios and in-house design groups. She is that rare breed of graphic designer who is just as comfortable working on the back end of a website as the “pretty” front end, Jami is a stickler for detail. She lists web design as a hobby and inspiration, not only as her job. She and her husband have lots of kids and lots of chickens. She finds inspiration everywhere and always has a new project in mind.

Mia Lee
Owner & Creative Director

As a working owner of Lee Media Group, Mia establishes creative direction for all projects. She leads their team by meeting with clients, crafting compelling campaigns, monitoring workflow, and managing the day-to-day operations. Known online as, “webbiegirl,” Mia is a digital diva, educator and longtime business owner. Expanding Lee Media Group and establishing a physical location in Rose Hill, Kansas has been the culmination of hard work, dedication and innovation. She prides herself on offering the same ideals to her customers, every single day.

Wendy Veatch
Director of Outreach Programming

As Director of Outreach Programming at WSU’s Center for Entrepreneurship, Wendy is responsible for marketing and managing programs and implementing their business plan competitions. She has a wealth of experience in program development and management, and is also well-versed in managing clinical trials and establishing recruitment programs for community awareness initiatives. She recently attended FastTrac training at the Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City and is pleased to share her knowledge with local businesses. She enjoys the opportunity to contribute to the Center’s WIRED activities.

Coaches and Mentors

Sam Williams
Managing Partner

Sam grew up in Alaska. Seeing the forces of nature at their untamed best can teach a guy a few things. Such as, when powerful forces shift, change is inevitable. So you may as well do what you can to make them work in your favor. CFOs are expected to be conservative. But no one embraces change more than Sam. To that end, it was Sam who, years ago, led SHS to a head start in the digital world. And it was Sam who helped drive us from traditional silos to our integrated team structure. Today, Sam is working on innovative compensation ideas that maximize the value SHS provides for clients. He’s also a dedicated community leader who, in his spare time, runs marathons and flies airplanes. Yeah, he’s manly like that.

Todd Ramsey
Chief Strategist

Todd Ramsey is the founder and chief strategist at Apples & Arrows, a branding agency in Wichita, Kansas. He works with companies to uncover and celebrate their unique brands in unique ways. Though his Klout score may not reflect it any longer, Todd has been a leader in the local social media conversation, helping organizations navigate these emerging tools and technologies. He lives with his wife Hayley, two cats (Toby and Lucy), a dog (Steve Holt!) and the occasional foster kid or two.

Devin Walker
CEO of PrintPop.com

Chief Executive Officer, Creative Director, and Founder, Devin is the very definition of "serial entrepreneur." Devin has been involved in some of the most innovative Internet concepts to hit the Web since 1994. Beginning with his work at American/Warner Brothers Records, Walker has been on teams that helped spawn radical changes in the music, news, and media industries. As well as founding PrintPop.com in 2002, Devin has worked on projects as diverse as the Ultimate Band List and ArtistDirect Network, motorcycle products, bikini lines, has several apps in the AppStore, as well as many newspaper websites for Knight Ridder, and Morris Communications. In 2010 Printpop.com was chosen as the "Best Existing Business" in the state of Kansas by the KS SBA. Himself an artist, Devin fits nicely into both the artistic, as well as the corporate communities.

Brandon Shuey
President, CEO of FlipHound.com

FlipHound.com, a Wichita-based company, was created to address the disparity between the soaring supply of digital billboards and the cumbersome legacy purchasing processes of the outdoor advertising industry.  FlipHound brings the simplicity of familiarity of marquee web portals such as Google Ad Words, Amazon, Ebay, and Expedia to advertisers who can make transactions at their convenience while also providing board owners with a light weight CRM system for managing lead generation, sales, inventory, assets and schedules.

Prior to FlipHound, Brandon worked as the CEO of a healthcare software company where he worked for nearly a decade creating and launching software products aimed at increasing patient care and efficiency in health care billing.  Brandon holds a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas and is a husband and father of four.

Jarrett Green
Chief Product Development Officer of BalancedComp

BalancedComp is a company that builds SaaS application for banks and credit Unions. Before that, he was the President and Lead Developer of Blink Interactive, and a Founding Member of the Labor Party.
His team, PantryDrop, won Judge's Choice in the first WIchita Startup Weekend.

Naomi Shapiro
Lead Communications Strategist

Raised in Hawaii, Naomi has called Wichita home for over a decade. She started her college career at UT Austin and holds a BA in Liberal Arts from The Evergreen State College and a BFA in Graphic Design from U Memphis. All that learnin’ prepared her for her role at Baseline Creative, where she does a lot of writing, some designing and a whole mess of social media stuff.
