Welcome & Speakers
Review agenda for the weekend and introduce speakers, coaches, and community leaders

Pitches Start
Optionally line up to give your pitch


9:00 pm
Voting
Attendees vote for the top pitches


9:15 pm
Form Teams
Teams start forming and discussing ideas


10:00 pm
Begin Work
Start to formalize teams and take an inventory of skills. Be honest, and direct about what resources and skills are needed for the weekend. You may stay and work as late as the venue will allow

Jarrett Green
Chief Product Development Officer of BalancedComp

BalancedComp is a company that builds SaaS application for banks and credit Unions. Before that, he was the President and Lead Developer of Blink Interactive, and a Founding Member of the Labor Party.
His team, PantryDrop, won Judge's Choice in the first WIchita Startup Weekend.

Lou Heldman
VP for Strategic Communications, Wichita State University

Lou Heldman is a newspaper and Web veteran who now serves as VP for Strategic Communications, Wichita State University. Lou retired in late 2007 as President and Publisher of the Wichita Eagle and Kansas.com. Previously, he held the same roles at the Centre Daily Times and Centredaily.com in State College, PA.



Beth Tully

Initially trained as a speech and language pathologist, holding both bachelor's and master's degrees, Beth worked in communications, marketing and sales before she came to the conclusion that her only source of true satisfaction came from her holiday tradition of chocolate making. She launched Cocoa Dolce Artisan Chocolates in Wichita, Kansas, in 2005.


Kenton Hansen

Kenton is the Founder of the Labor Party (http://labor-party.com), Wichita's coworking space for creative, technology, and startup people. He organizes the Wichita Startup Weekends, and is happy to help you make Wichita a better place to startup your idea. He hates phone calls, but will answer any email or tweet.

Jarrett Green
Chief Product Development Officer of BalancedComp

Seth Etter
Software Engineer

Seth is a Wichita based web and mobile developer with experience building highly interactive user interfaces and the back end API’s used to power them. He has a focus on helping the city of Wichita increase its presence in the world of technology by organizing a developer community group called devICT and Open Wichita - a civic hacking initiative. Currently he works as an application developer for BalancedComp and occasionally teaches for Ad Astra Academy.


Chris Parks

As instantly recognizable as his iconic logos, Chris Parks is a Wichita design powerhouse. A few of his local logos you'll recognize: The Anchor, Fork and Fennel, Beards Floral Design, and Cocoa Dolce, just to name a few.


David Bisek

David Bisek is a Wichita-based branding and marketing consultant. David has over a decade of food marketing experience, having worked for Cargill and most recently Whole Foods Market, where he opened one of their newest stores in Wichita. David recently launched his own brand consulting firm with a focus on helping businesses improve brand experiences, connect with their communities and drive action. 


Skyler Lovelace

Skyler Lovelace is an artist who launched Pixel Time in 2008 to offer classes in digital arts and Mac technologies. When she's not teaching people how to use their Wacom tablets and showing kids how to animate and code at Exploration Place, you can find her at a local community college, where she's known as Dr. Lovelace, a Full Professor who has been happily originating and supporting Digital Media programs of study for 25 years.


Michael Neth
Product Design & Development Lead

Michael Neth is a Wichita-based designer and programmer. He does Product Design and Development at Callcap.com, freelance design and web development as infernocloud.com, and designs board games and card games as a co-owner of 54 Hour Game Co. (54hour.com). Michael's concepts and teams won Judge's Choice in both Startup Weekend Fall 2013 (for Lunch Quest, a local food discovery subscription) and Startup Weekend Spring 2014 (for Crash & Burn, a card game with mobile app integration).
