One of the startups The Sandbox a co-working space opened its' doors on January 11th, 2017 and another startup continues to work on their project as well.

Will Powell
Co-Founder and CEO, The Podyum

Podyum is a jobs platform that allows athletes and coaches to build their résumé and apply directly to sports organizations. We have implemented a freemium model in which free users can build their résumé and see all of the job postings but must pay to actually apply to pro teams or schools.

Our two core products include the Podyum sports jobs platform and the IOS Podyum Statistics App that produces a live play-by-play gamecast online.

Bruce Cull
President, National Field Archery Association

Bruce is the President of the National Field Archery Association, General manager of the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center, and Owner/President of Dakota Archery and Outdoor Sports in Yankton, SD. 

Bruce has brought many great archery events to Yankton including the 2015 World Archery Youth Championship. 


Sheila Woodward
Partner, Johnson, Miner, Marlow, Woodward & Huff, Prof. LLC

Sheila handles the firm’s estate planning, trusts, and probate practice. She also assists small businesses with start-up and post start-up issues, including the formation of corporations, limited liability partnerships, and limited liability companies. Sheila works with farmers and other land owners on real estate matters and assists with the firm’s litigation matters. Sheila manages the firm’s appellate practice and has argued before the South Dakota Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals on numerous occasions.

Sheila and her husband Chris Sonne live in Yankton.  Like her counterparts in the firm, Sheila is actively involved in the community, currently serving as Board Chair for both the Heartland Humane Society and Yankton Area Foundation.  She also is a director for The Center and serves on the South Dakota Advisory Committee to the United States Civil Rights Commission.  Previously, Sheila served on the boards for Big Friend/Little Friend, Yankton Women's/Children's Center, Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota, Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota Foundation, Yankton Area Arts Association, and Trinity Lutheran Church.


In her spare time, Sheila enjoys coaching basketball for the Yankton Special Olympics, cooking, traveling, and cajoling her dogs to walk nicely on a leash.


Jessica Gadeken
Audit and Accounting Manager, Wohlenberg Ritzman & Co., LLC

Jessica has been in public accounting since 2005. Her industry specialization includes governmental and non-profit entities with a focus on state, local, and tribal governments. Her responsibilities include financial statement and compliance audits; assisting in the preparation and review of annual financial statements, related footnotes and combining schedules; and serving in the position of Interim Finance Director for governmental and non-profit entities.


Bill Anderson
CEO, Montessorium and Bright Planet

Bill is the CEO of Montessorium and Bight Planet.  
Montessorium makes the Montessori method more accessible through educational apps. We create resources for parents, providing encouragement and inspiration for engaging with their children. We help schools and teachers become better educators through videos, articles, and our favorite, conversations.

For over 15 years, BrightPlanet has helped clients simplify the Web collection and sense-making process. As a small team located in South Dakota, we love helping our customers and partners find ways to make sense of the world’s largest database in existence, the internet. We’ve patented technology allowing us to tap into unstructured web data from the Surface Web, Deep Web, and even places on the Dark Web.

Organizer, Mentor & Judges

Myles started his entrepreneurship career when he founded a startup at Startup Weekend. Over 3 years he managed to raise a $100k seed round, build a mobile app that lets people skip the line at popular food locations on campus, and secure a Fortune 500 company as a customer. 

Myles currently works at Payment Rails, at Montreal Startup that is making payouts for marketplace businesses painless.
